Educational institutions

Program sites, registration, and resource pages for a department or program, without replacing the student system.

The term sets the calendar

A department, a continuing-education office, or a program inside a college runs on the academic year: an application deadline, an information session, registration for the summer program, the first week of term. Students and parents read the requirement, the date, and the form on a phone. The coordinator who edits the site does it between other duties. Central IT owns the login, the student information system, and the hosting rules.

What the site has to do

  • Put the requirement, the deadline, and the form where a student on a phone finds them.
  • Let the coordinator change a date or add a session without a ticket.
  • Take a registration for a program or an event.
  • Keep resource lists current, and retire last year's.
  • Follow campus rules on login, branding, and hosting.

What we will not assume

We do not replace the student information system, the learning management system, or the campus login. If the job is to show a program, take a registration, or publish resources, that is a website project. If the job is to write data back into the student system, that is an integration, scoped only after we know what the campus allows a vendor to touch.

Accessibility

If your institution is part of a state or local government, the Department of Justice web rule under Title II sets WCAG 2.1 AA, with compliance dates in April 2027 or April 2028 depending on population. The details are on the accessibility page. Our build target is WCAG 2.2 AA. Whether and when the rule applies to your institution is for campus counsel.

What you can look at

At Aero Design, Leonardo's work included sites for educational organizations. Aero Design publishes its own case studies. They are Aero's, and they are not listed here as LSCalado projects. LSCalado has not published an education client of its own.
