Membership platforms and portals
Where it goes wrong
The renewal email goes out and the form does not recognize the member. The event page shows a member the non-member price. The directory is a PDF from two years ago. Staff keep a spreadsheet because it is faster than the admin screen, and the two disagree by March.
What we do
- Join and renew online, with the right price for each membership type.
- Event registration that shows members the member rate and closes on the date or the headcount you set.
- Member-only pages and resources, with public pages kept public.
- A directory that members or staff can update.
- Staff screens for the lists they actually use.
- Payments through the processor you already use. Card numbers are not stored on your site.
- Single sign-on or a connection to your association management system or CRM, after we have seen it.
How it runs
Usually in phases: the public site and the renewal first, then events, then the directory or the integration. Each phase has its own scope. Leonardo's work at Aero Design included membership and commerce on Drupal and connections to CiviCRM, RedHen, and Keycloak. Which of those, if any, fits your project is a discovery question. The membership desk is a working concept of the public side of a renewal. If you are moving from an old system, read planning a membership site migration.
